University of Utah Addiction Fellowships

Although the new academic year at the University of Utah has just started, the application process to apply for Addiction Medicine and Addiction Psychiatry positions has begun. Like other fellowships, individuals need to complete an ERAS application. The fellows have opportunities to rotate on the Addiction Medicine Consult Service within the University Medical Center, the VA IPU and SAARTP,  SUPeRAD outpatient clinic, West High adolescent clinic, and spend time at the Moab Recovery clinic. It’s not too late to apply or to encourage a friend or colleague to apply.

This year, the University of Utah has three Addiction Medicine Fellows.

Dr. Anna Tsygelnylska is originally from Brooklyn, New York. She completed her medical school in Florida and then returned to Brooklyn to complete her residency in Internal Medicine. Next, Dr. Colton Clay is an Emergency Medicine provider who is originally from Alaska. He completed his training in Michigan and has been working within the Salt Lake community before starting his fellowship. Finally, Dr. Omar Syad comes from Tallahassee, Florida. He completed his Family Practice Residency in Boise, Idaho, before starting his addiction medicine fellowship this summer.

Additionally, at the end of this past academic year, the University of Utah graduated two Addiction Medicine Fellows, Drs. Robbie Calvert and James Hellewell, and two Addiction Psychiatric Fellows, Drs. Matt Torbenson and Justin Forsyth. We are excited to welcome them into our Addiction Provider community.
